§ 14-75. Duty of board of public works and safety.

  • If, after the expiration of 30 days from the passage of the ordinance from which this article is derived, any owner or agent shall fail to have complied with the provisions of this section in causing his house or building to be properly numbered, or shall fail to maintain such number thereafter, the board of public works and safety shall cause such house or building to be properly numbered, and the expense thereof shall be paid by such owner or agent to the city, or to whom the board of public works and safety may authorize to receive such payment, and, upon the failure of any such owner or agent to pay such amount at once, the amount shall constitute a lien upon the property, and shall be certified to the proper officer, charged upon the tax duplicate against such property, and collected as other suits in equity for the foreclosure of liens.
