§ 2-183. Junk belonging to city.

  • (a)

    Sale authorized. Authority, consent and permission is hereby given to the board of public works and safety to sell and dispose of junk belonging to and within the city without application to the common council of the city, where the value of such junk to be sold does not exceed $100.00.

    (b)

    General duties of board of public works and safety. The board of public works and safety, before selling such junk, shall use due diligence to obtain the best price that can be realized for such junk, and all sums of money received for the sale of such junk shall be accurately accounted for upon the records of the board, giving the date of sale, name of the purchaser, character and kind of junk disposed of and the different items of junk sold.

    (c)

    Accounting and disposition of moneys. All moneys for such junk shall be fully accounted for and paid to the clerk-treasurer of the city and his receipt for such moneys shall be taken and kept on file among the papers of the board of public works and safety.
