§ 50-2. Standards for accepting dedication of streets, alleys and other thoroughfares.

  • (a)

    The board of public works and safety or any other governmental body which has been granted the power to accept the dedication of streets, alleys and other thoroughfare additions to the city shall not accept such dedications unless such proposed dedications are constructed in compliance with at least the minimal physical requirements adopted by the board of public works and safety or other appropriate governmental body of the city or state which has the authority to adopt such standards.

    (b)

    In addition to the requirements of subsection (a) of this section, the board of public works and safety or other governmental body which has the authority to accept such thoroughfare dedications shall not accept such dedications unless, in the opinion of the board of public works and safety or other governmental body which has been legally granted such authority, it is determined that such thoroughfare improvements are consistent with the historical and/or aesthetic setting of surrounding thoroughfare improvements unless, in the opinion of such governmental body, the proposed dedication constitutes an improvement in existing conditions and/or thoroughfares.
